This week….UGH is all I can say. We all have those days, weeks, months but when life throws you obstacles do you a) curl up in your bed & swear to become a hermit or b) conquer your problems & count them as lessons. Personally I choose the latter although it’s not always the easiest option. Throughout the day even at work I find time to give myself some ME time & re-centre myself. A few quick n easy ways I do this is by:
- Breathe deeply; Sit down away from any noise or people and take a deep breathe in, hold for 5 seconds, then release ×5. Try to imagine all your stress leaving your body when you exhale, letting go of the negative.
- Mantras: Sit down in a quiet space and repeat kind things to yourself when your feeling without potiental. For example; “I am worth more than I believe” “I CAN do this” “This particular moment in time, does not define who I am” “Failing only proves to try harder” “I love myself”
- Goals: I feel when I am without a sense of direction, I am lost. Not knowing what needs to be accomplished at the right time makes me stressed to the max because then I’m all over the place trying to crush everything at once when it doesn’t have to be that way. Writing down your goals or things to be conquered helps an extential amount because you’ll also be able to see what you HAVE done, so you’ll feel a sense of pride that with all the doubt, you still managed to achieve some of your set goals!
- Stretches for stress: When my anxiety builds and the weitht of the world is metaphorically on my shoulders, my body can physically feel it and cries for help, LOL. Some exercises i find that eases the stress from my muscles are: Rolling my neck in circles counter-clockwise then clockwise ×3 each direction. Shoulder circles in either direction ×5 each arm. Interlock your fingers above your head with your arms outstretched & stand on your toes, feeling the muscles in your lower back stretch.
